Photographed in 2017, this celebration is shared as part of our East Tennessee wedding archive.

Nathan and Lauren’s Story

Nathan and Lauren were originally introduced through family and friends. They dated on and off for several years before Lauren chose to return home and marry her best friend. After seven and a half years together, their families were finally proven right—they had believed from the beginning that Nathan and Lauren would someday get married.

Meaningful Wedding Details

One of the most meaningful details from the wedding was the beautiful wooden cross used during the ceremony. Lauren’s grandfather built it from chestnut barn wood that had been in the family for approximately 100 years.

Filomena’s Florals decorated the cross with silk flowers, creating a ceremony backdrop that combined family history, faith, and beautiful floral design.

An Emotional Ceremony at Grace Meadows Farm

One of the most memorable moments happened when Nathan and Lauren first saw each other from opposite ends of the aisle. The nervousness of the day seemed to disappear as soon as they saw one another.

Nathan also loved Lauren’s wedding dress. It was different from what he had expected, and his emotional reaction as she walked down the aisle became another unforgettable part of their ceremony.

Personal Gifts and Wedding-Day Surprises

Lauren created handmade quilts for her bridesmaids and flower girl, giving each of them a personal keepsake from the wedding. She also presented meaningful gifts to her mother and new mother-in-law.

After the reception, Nathan surprised Lauren by revealing that he had planned their honeymoon to Cedar Point, one of her favorite places. He also surprised her with a Cricut Explore Air 2.

The couple’s birdseed exit produced plenty of laughter—including the memorable moment when someone accidentally threw birdseed directly into Nathan’s ear.

Sunset Wedding Portraits

After the gifts and surprises, we returned outside for additional portraits of the newlyweds. Grace Meadows Farm gave us a beautiful East Tennessee setting, and the evening ended with a magnificent sunset.
